When the dust settles, Zeus' human son Heron (Derek Phillips) stands tall with the other gods on Mount Olympus, while his half-demon brother Seraphim (Elias Toufexis) rides the river Styx.Īnd Seraphim isn't alone. ![]() Deep in the underworld, another deity made themselves known in a way that is both exciting and just a little bone-chilling.īlood of Zeus, the latest American anime on Netflix from animation studio Powerhouse, tells a new story about the Greek Olympians and their war against the Giants. So, yeah, that’s all I got for you on Zeus and Poseidon. The show may be titled Blood of Zeus, but the god of thunder doesn't get the last laugh in Netflix's new anime hit. In a way, Poseidon was probably the most clear-sighted of the three brothers in the end who saw the situation for what it was. I feel like from that point on, Poseidon saw Hades for the villain he was despite Zeus’s attempts to gloss over Hades’s misdeeds. So I think Poseidon took Hades’s evil plot as the betrayal it was. Then the only other ep they really interact in has Poseidon angrily pointing the trident at Hades and walking away without a word. The episode ends with Poseidon furious and using the trident to beat Hades up. But that’s the ONLY episode they really interact in, and in it, Hades betrays Poseidon and tries to annex his realm. They had a nice friendly relationship and repartee in Hercules and the River Styx and a good brotherly bond with Poseidon calling Hades his “little bro-bro” and kind of treating Hades with the same infantilization that Zeus does. Poseidon and Hades are a little different. They’re both kings of their own domains and have a wife and kids, so they tend to not spend much time together unless they’re working with the Council of the Gods. Poseidon and Zeus are on good terms with each other and frequently support one another as they see fit. He likes being Lord of the Waters, doesn’t care about the throne of Olympus, and mostly just keeps himself occupied with making marine mammals and fish sticks. Poseidon is mostly “my name is Paul, this is between y’all” over Zeus and Hades’s dysfunction. Hades, however, genuinely hates Zeus even though they have a good repartee and always have. ![]() And after how paranoid Cronus got, Zeus wants to avoid going down that dark path. Zeus kinda treats “evil” like it’s Hades’s special interest rather than something genuinely threatening, which is probably at least partially self-preservation: he can’t believe that Hades could ever really come close to usurping him because that would mean that he’s weak enough to lose his throne. I think Zeus genuinely thinks Hades is gonna get over his resentment for being assigned the Underworld and figures as long as he maintains their friendship, things’ll all work out. I feel like they were likely really close before Zeus became king of Olympus and genuinely had a good friendship, and the fact that they were so close and yet Zeus still dumped Hades in the Underworld is what really made that sting all the harder for Hades. Despite all the schemes Hades hatches in the TV show, he and Zeus are always right back to hanging out and being familiar with each other next episode. Hades and Zeus weirdly seem to have a much closer relationship than either of them do to Poseidon. But what I can offer you is the way I see their relationship to Hades and each other. But weirdly I don’t have very many coming to mind. Sorry, I’ve been sitting on this ask since I got it trying to think of a good answer for you.
